Introduction

As we are moving towards web3.0, the games that we used to know will significantly change and blend into reality. Ever since the existence of multiplayer game, especially MMO RPGs; players has been monetizing their virtual assets into fiat currencies, mostly through non-integrated 3rd party website. However, we think the Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) is the missing link that is needed to revolutionize the game industry, and the Play-to-Earn games will become the mainstream.

What is Metopia?

Imagine Animal Crossing in metaverse, where you can hangout with your friends in a beautiful town that you have designed to the finest detail; as well as adventuring the fun & exciting world with your friends. Metopia is the next generation social adventure game that is built from the ground up supporting and integrating the NFT into the core of the gameplay.

This new world on blockchain features rich and diverse biomes that produces different resources; creatures and monsters that have unique materials. The vast and wilderness of unexplored areas challenges the adventurers to tame the wilds, and conquer the lands. Ultimately, using the resources & materials that you gathered to build the utopia of your dream. #Material

There are 10 main regions in Metopia with unique biomes, resources, creatures and challenges. Initially, you can only explore a few nearby regions. However, as you progress and level-up your town, you will be able to adventure into other regions. #Regions

Everything Can Be Tokenized

Literally everything in Metopia can be tokenized into NFTs; we have developed a system that leverages Ethereum blockchain to empower the players to sell your virtual assets on OpenSea.

You can tokenize a rare material that you have just found from the adventure; or, craft a really high-end item that everyone is willing to pay high price for. Metopia is blending the line between virtual and reality; players can monetize their efforts and hard-works in Metopia. #Tokenizing Items

Player-Driven Economy

Every material & resource is gathered by the players, and every item is crafted by the players. The game itself has some very basic items in the shop, to control the baseline of the market economics.

Players are the supplier and the consumer in the Metopia; and, the ecosystem will be naturally formed because each player only have finite number of time and energy per day. The economics will naturally be formed and empowers the players to sell their excessive items, and purchase their needs from the free marketplace.

The price naturally ties to the scarcity, and rarity of an item. For example, a really difficult to find and rare drop material will cost much more than a common resource that is abundant. Similarly, a crafted item that requires high rank skill will cost much more than common item that can be crafted by everyone.

VR-ready

Metopia is going to be the pioneer that brings metaverse one step closer into the world. At the current stage of technology, the closest equipment that resembles metaverse is a VR headset, like the Occulus Quest (they calling it Meta Quest now).

In Metopia, you can enjoy the exact same fun in both traditional platforms (PC, Xbox, PS), as well as in VR. And, we support cross-platform gameplay that allows the players to enjoy the game with or without VR.

NFT Partnership

Metopia is going to be the pioneer of NFT gaming industry that incorporate other NFT projects into the game. We will be seeking collaborations with other projects, and integrate other NFT collections into Metopia as decorative assets so each player can personalize their town and show off their other collections in Metopia.

Here's some ideas of project collaboration that we have been thinking:

• A picture frame in your Metopia house, which reads from your wallet to identify our partnered NFTs and display it in game.

• A 3D sculpture of our partner NFT project, and player can craft it and place it in the town.

• A weapon designed with the general theme of the partnered projects.

Roadmap

• Conceptual Design At this phase, the founding team will be primarily focusing on designing the foundation of Metopia, defining what we represent, and planning our next steps. We want to bring the best work that we can possibly do, pushing ourselves to be the pioneers exploring the realm of blockchain gaming, and possibly a glimpse into metaverse.

• Proof of Concepts

  At this phase, each sub team identifies the missing link of Metopia, and tries to minimally proof the concept is a feasible idea that we can bring forward to our investors.

  The art team will be creating conceptual arts that provides the team a visual representation of Metopia; as well as defining the art style of the game. The engineering team will be developing some sort of minimal build on core pieces of the game to proof that the game is achievable with current technology and staff. The design team will be filling in the details of each gameplay components.

• Genesis NFTs Our goal is to build the next generation community-centric blockchain game that redefines how a game should be; therefore, why not present the community that we care for from the get-go? Instead of going through the traditional route of finding the investors, like game publishers, to fund the project, and giving them 40 - 50% of the profit; we would like to translate that into tangible benefits that our NFT holders can obtain, and start earning even before the game is launched. #Genesis

• Staking As soon as we sell out our NFTs, we will enable staking feature on our website. At current stage, this is the only method to earn $TOPIA - our primary in-game currency token. The more Genesis you hold, the more you will earn.

• Intermitten Dev Blogs We will be posting dev blogs on major progress every week in Metopia Dev Blogs along with some technical blogs, and artist blogs for those who's interested in details of game development. We want to keep our stakeholders in loop on our progresses, major milestone achievements, and progressively seeing the dream come true!

• Team Expansion

  With the funds raised from Genesis NFTs, we will be able to expand the team and sailing full speed in development. Please checkout We are hiring!for job openings, if you have talents and passion in game development, we want to meet you!

• Vertical Slice

  Vertical slice is a terminology frequently used in game industry; referring to a playable build that represents the best and the core of the game. Like a slice of cake, where you can taste a little bit of every layer; but not the entire thing yet.

• Metopia Avenue We will be offering an exclusive opportunity to secure the best 1,000 location of our 5th avenue. This will be an auction house sales with $TOPIA. #Metopia Avenue

• Playtest Sessions

  Once we got vertical slice out the door, we will periodically invite our NFT holders to our play test session. The primary goal is to gather immediate feedback from our stakeholders; and potentially, our player community as well. This helps us to steer into the right direction incrementally.

• Alpha Build (Q4 2023 - Q1 2024) Alpha build is an unoptimized build that has every component ready; but not to the fullest extent. We will invite our holders to join the major milestone with us, and get a taste of the game early!!

• Beta Build (Q3 2024 - Q4 2024) Beta build is a shippable game already, but can be further improved. We will invite all our holders once again to celebrate the major milestone achieved, and one step closer to Metopia being launched!!

• Public Launch(Q4 2024 - Q1 2025) Metopia is finally here! For the first 3 months, the game will be exclusively to our holders; giving our holders a head start in the game. After 3 months, the game will be available on Steam for free. However, general public can only play the game via renting a staked character.

• Future Updates We don't stop here; the team will be continuously updating new contents in Metopia. This will be an ongoing project for many years to come. We are community-centric game; where the dev team will be listening to our community's feedback, and progressively updating the game to fit both our vision and community's expectation.

• Companion App On top of delivering more content updates, we will allocate some resources to develop a companion app. Some features that we have thought about are: staking management, marketplace listing management, farmland management, auction house bidding, and Metopia Avenue management.
