Materials
TL;DR
Resources & materials are the fundamental component of the game; there are tons of different materials which is required to upgrade buildings, craft items, and enhance equipments.
Rare materials can only be found in more advanced adventure locations.
Gathering
Material gathering is the core of the Metopia, and one of the fundamental gameplay mechanic that players can monetize on. We expect the price of each individual material will reflect based on the rarity & scarcity of such material, as well as the demand of the market.
The economy of the in-game items are subject to fluctuate based on the supply & demand of the player community, and is heavily influenced by the progression of the players. Therefore, we have designed the crafting system that does not completely eliminate the common items in late games; instead, a common items that are found in early game will have some sort of optional usage in late game as well. This approach creates an ecosystem where new players will have immediate opportunity to monetize on their resources.

Rarity
A material's rarity can be determined by Scarcity and Difficulty to obtain such material; which can also be affected by the prerequisite of finding such material. For example, an Elite Piranbud can only be found in the Depth of Jungle region; hence, the rarity of Elite Piranbud will also factor in the difficulty of obtaining such Fragment.
Common (Rarity F)
It's commonly found in the world of Metopia in abundant, and does not have region-specificity. Most of the time, the resource & material does not have creature guarding it, or the creature is weak that can be easily defeated.
Uncommon (Rarity E)
It's still relatively common to be found during the adventure; however, it will require slightly more work than the common materials. Hence, the material is always guarded by creature, though still relatively easy & weak to defeat.
Scarce (Rarity D)
To find scarce rarity material, players often will need to adventure into deeper regions of Metopia and defeating strong creatures; although, players still have a slim chance of finding it in outer perimeter of Metopia. Often these items will start to have region-specificity, or creature-specific.
Only a proficient mastery craftsman can process this tier of material; and it's often used in the high-end items crafting or enhancement.
Rare (Rarity C)
Materials at this tier of rarity can not be found in the outer perimeter of Metopia; player will need to adventure in the deeper region of Metopia, and always guarded by strong guardians.
Exotic (Rarity B)
Rumor says, only the deepest region of Metopia have this tier of item; and only the top tier adventurers have seen something like this.
Epic (Rarity A)
This is guarded by the Boss in the deepest region of Metopia; a true challenge even for the best adventurer.
Legendary (Rarity S)
Only has a slight chance of finding such material from the Boss.
Regenerative Resources
Regenerative Resources are materials that can be grown in the farmland; these type of resources are widely used in combat (as projectile), culinary ingredients, bait & traps, potions, etc.
The demand of regenerative resources will remain high because the end usage is mostly consumable items. But the price may not be as lucrative as high-end materials.
