Creatures
Overview
Creatures are the enemies and foes that players will encounter during an adventure. Metopia is occupied by diverse creatures and species that possesses valuable materials that can help the adventurers in town building, item crafting, and equipment forging.
TL;DR
Creatures are the enemies that players will be facing in an adventure; each creature have their behavior archetype that determines how they will behave when encountering threats. Meanwhile, the creatures are generally stronger, faster, and deadlier when they are higher rank. The adventurer can greatly simplify the adventure experience if they can properly leverage the creature's elemental weakness.
Archetype
Creatures can be categorized into 5 major archetypes: Passive, Aggressive, Supportive, Collaborative and Defensive. The creatures are categorized into the archetype based on how the creatures tends to behave; however, it's not always a black-and-white distinction.
Passive
A passive creature does not initiate the combat, they will only engage in battle if provoked or attacked first. This is the typical type of enemies in the Border of the beginning regions; however, you may encounter this archetype deeper in the regions as well.
Aggressive
An aggressive creature does not hesitate to initiate a battle, these type of enemy are usually vigilant and able to spot threats from miles away. They will attack the invaders within range, and won't stop until death.
Defensive
Also known as protective enemies, they are usually guarding their allies or an objective. These type of enemies is also cautious and will be able to avoid traps. They will always initiate a battle if their protectee is damaged; however, we have seem defensive creatures initiate combat even when the adventurers walked too close to the protectee.
Supportive
Supportive enemies are a huge archetype that has many different usage; this is a generic term to describe a collection of enemies that have abilities helping their allies directly or indirectly. For example, healing, buff, invisibility cloak, etc.
Collaborative
This is the most dangerous archetype, they come in group, and attack as group. Notoriously for hunting their prey in pack. Be on a look out for these type of enemies.
Rank
Creatures are ranked differently, the ranking is not black and white definition of their power; it's just a general guideline that all adventurers referred to.
Common
This is what you will typically face in the Border of each region, easy to combat.
Elites
These are the stronger version of common enemies, they usually have much more health, higher defense, and shorter cooldown.
Guardians
Guardians are the "boss" of the Border areas, they tests the player's knowledge on the combat system. They will be quite difficult to face roll through even you already out scaled them.
Lords
Lords only appear in the deeper area of each region; they possess high damage, fast reactions, and capable of decimating entire team.
Legendary
Legendary creatures are the known to be the owner of each region; they are the strongest being in Metopia. Taking the legendary creature down will be a challenge even for the most veteran adventurers.
???
Rumors says, in the core of each region dormants a monster that possess more powers than legendary creatures; they are 10 times bigger, 10 times faster, 10 times stronger!! They can wield the nature's power, summon storms and lightnings, breath fire, and even bend time & space.
"I saw the monster with my own eyes!! Its body stretches beyond the horizon, its claw is as big as mountain, its eyes are like hell staring at you. My leg was crippled from the fight, atlas, I was able to slain the monster with my knife!" - A crippled old man
Elemental
Each creature have elemental weakness and resistance against certain type of elemental damage. The creature receives additional % damage from the elemental damage, and mitigates % damage from the elemental damage. A proper preparation is the key to a smooth and fruitful adventure.
Metopia does not have "magic"; however, the adventurers figured out a way to transform materials that possesses elemental properties and weaponized them to deal elemental damages.
